Kabbalat Shabbat lead by Rabbi Greg Wolfe and Student Rabbi Yoel Sykes. Join us for a special musical and spiritual Shabbat journey, celebrating Rabbi Greg’s 27 years with our Bet Haverim community. This will be a unique opportunity to experience the energy and joy that Yoel co-creates with his uplifting music and prayers, and open-hearted presence together with every community he visits.
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Yoel is known through his work as part of the Nava Tehila leadership team, where he has composed many melodies for Jewish liturgy, recorded 4 professional albums and co-led musical kabbalat Shabbat services for 13 years. Currently he lives in Boulder, Colorado, and studies Rabbinics and Hashpaáh (spiritual direction) in the ALEPH Ordination Program. Yoel travels to synagogues around the U.S. and the world to lead transformative and healing prayer experiences. If you would like to listen to some of the music and prayers that will be part of this special service, please click here to go Yoel’s Google document with links.
Participate on Zoom or in the Sanctuary; all who attend on campus must be vaccinated and masks are no longer required at services where there are no young children present. However, wearing masks is still suggested indoors in accordance with Yolo County policy. If Rabbi Greg determines that young children are present, he will ask everyone to wear their mask.
