How the Youth of Palestine and Lebanon wrote their vision of the Future on Their Walls
David Miller will discuss a project he organized several years ago training the youth of both Southern Lebanon and Palestine to do large murals on the external walls of schools and government buildings. He brought 8 people from Precita Eyes in the Mission of San Francisco to train the youth. <>. This is a program originally created by students and faculty of UC Davis. The money for the international travel of the eight trainers was raised from the Jewish Community of West Marin.
Mr. Miller will present slides of the entire project including the conditions that led up to the project, the engagement of the youth to do the design and work on the walls, and the outcomes. This presentation could help listeners think of similar projects we might become involved with in the region.
Presented by Israel Peace Alternatives and Rabbi Greg Wolfe,G. David Miller is Founding Director, Global Fellowship in Agricultural Development (GFAD) Program, College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, University of California Davis.
