Rabbi Galit Cohen Kedem and Dr. Adar Cohen will offer a Yom HaZikaron (Israeli Memorial Day) service in Hebrew for Israelis in and around Davis. This Yom Hazikaron commemoration will be an Israeli-style gathering, which includes singing, recitation of poetry and memorial texts and sharing personal stories. If anyone would like to ask in advance for a specific song or would like to share a personal memory about one of the fallen, they may write to Adar Cohen.
Rabbi Cohen Kedem is currently working at the Rabbi-Educator at B’nai Israel in Sacramento and she will be our featured guest speaker at our Israel Shabbat on Friday, April 29. Her husband, Adar, will be giving a presentation on June 8th about Palestinians in the Israeli university system.
Rabbi Greg Wolfe and the Israel Haverim Committee are sponsoring this in-person event.
