The musical theme for Rabbi Greg’s final Kabbalat Shabbat on June 24 at 7 pm before he becomes emeritus will be, “Thank You for The Music,” celebrating songs by musicians who have visited Bet Haverim under Rabbi Greg’s leadership:
Amazed by Linda Hirshhorn
Shalom Aleichem by Nava Tehila
L’cha Dodi by Rabbi Shefa Gold
Mi Chamocha by Rick Recht
Y’hiyu L’ratzon by Cantor Brian Reich
Ruach Elohim by Cantor Lisa Levine
We will also sing, And Thou Shalt Love by Debbie Friedman, who did not visit Bet Haverim, but she did visit Sacramento. It is special to Songleaders because it was that song which inspired Sarah at Camp Swig, under Rabbi Greg’s leadership, to buy a guitar, learn to play it, and bring this music to Bet Haverim.
Participate on Zoom or in the Sanctuary; all who attend on campus must be vaccinated, and masks are no longer required at services where there are no young children present. However, wearing masks is still suggested indoors in accordance with Yolo County policy.
June 26
Dianna Zbarsky Hoffman, mother of Rabbi Cyn Hoffman
Ishai Zeldner, husband of Amina Harris
June 29
Bess Bergman, grandmother of Hilary Brodie
June 30
Jack Gollob, uncle of Steve Cohan
Frances Wender Kandel, friend of Bet Haverim Congregation
Ludwig Kraus, grandfather of Karen Neuwald
Berdie Mikalson, mother of Ron Mikalson
Morris Radding, father of Pearl Carpenter
Judy White, mother of Stephen White
