Dr. John M. Liu is a retired UC Irvine professor, who taught in the Departments of Asian American Studies and Sociology. His areas of teaching and research are in racial/ethnic studies, comparative racial communities, international migration, and sociological theory. His current research focuses on the impact of recent immigration on Asian American community development, Asian American populations in Orange County, and comparative Asian immigration to Canada and Australia.
