As part of the CBH Confirmation Program and our exploration of Jewish spiritual diversity, students will be traveling to the East Bay for a shabbaton to visit different synagogues in the area, as well as to enjoy a memorable shabbat experience together at Urban Adamah in Berkeley.
The Confirmation Shabbaton will take place from 4pm Friday April 10, 2026- approximately 7pm April 11, 2026. We will depart and return to CBH. We will travel via car to Berkeley. Chaperones will be Rabbi Leah Julian and her husband Sammy Roth.
Cost of Participation: $210/student, this includes lodging for one night, Friday night Shabbat dinner, Saturday breakfast, and Saturday lunch.

Packing List:
● 2 outfits for Shabbat services (nice slacks and collared shirt, modest dresses, long skirt
and blouse, etc.)
○ We will be visiting an Orthodox synagogue so girls should bring dresses or skirts that go down to their ankles, and shirts that cover their collarbones
● Clothes for sleeping
● Toiletries
● Warm layers
● Books, journals, etc. for down time
Sleeping arrangements:
● We won’t know until closer to the event if Urban Adamah has us sleeping in hotel style rooms, or dorm style rooms. We will figure out arrangements closer to the time of the Shabbaton.
Parents are asked to fill out a medical and liability release, and teens and parents asked to fill out a code of conduct form. Please fill out and sign these forms and send them directly to the Director of Education and Youth at school@bethaverim.org.
